We founded Luper in 2023 at the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven with the goal to free our skies from industrial air pollution in order to protect our planet and all its lifeforms.

From day one, we’ve focused on developing innovative air cleaning systems that transform how industrial facilities treat toxic and odorous gases. We are on a journey to set the new standard for sustainable air cleaning, where transparency and reliability guide everything we do, from how to design to how we communicate and how we deliver.

At Luper we develop and deliver ‘the AirShield’, our end-of-pipe air cleaning system that enables our customers to reduce the social, environmental and financial burden of industrial air pollution. Our AirShield is an integrated multi-tech solution that builds on the gas-phase advanced oxidation, originally invented by our cofounder Matthew Johnson as Professor of Atmospheric Chemistry at the University of Copenhagen.

Our work focuses on supporting wastewater treatment plants, factories, and other industrial facilities to achieve reliable emission control, improve working conditions, and meet environmental standards. Where we believe that modern air cleaning solutions should continuously demonstrate their performance with real-time data.

The urgency to tackle air pollution has never been greater. Worldwide, there is growing awareness of the negative impact of air pollution on our health, the environment, and the economy. The World Health Organization reports that more than 7 million people die each year as a result of air pollution. In addition, air pollution can reduce crop yields by up to 25% and contributes to biodiversity loss. The cost of air pollution in Europe amounts to €330 billion, while the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has calculated that: 

 Every €1 invested in combating air pollution yields €30 in societal return.

These societal developments are driving a growing demand for clean air and innovative solutions that are both sustainable and cost-effective. To meet this increasing demand, new technologies are essential.
